Description Logic - Application

This presentation includes a demonstration on how to get started with using Description Logic with SNOMED CT.

After completing this presentation the student should be able to:

• Describe the purpose of description logic
• Explain how description logic is used by SNOMED CT
• Distinguish between OWL 2 and the OWL 2 EL profile
• Use the script provided to transform a RF2 snapshot file into an OWL format, and load it into Protegé
• Use a description logic reasoner to classify SNOMED CT in Protegé
