Description

In this presentation the design features of SNOMED CT and ICD are compared. The presentation looks at the difference between the mono-hierarchical structure of ICD and the polyhierarchical structure of SNOMED CT. It also presents the differences in the way concepts are defined in the two code systems, and how each unit of meaning is uniquely identified.
