Course Information

Overview

The SNOMED CT Authoring Level 1 course teaches you the knowledge and skills needed to perform basic SNOMED CT authoring tasks. It also prepares you for the SNOMED CT Authoring Level 1 certification exam.

Students will have the opportunity to learn and practice authoring tasks using a training version of SNOMED International’s authoring platform. Authoring exercises will be performed in a fictitious extension known as the ‘SNOMED Land extension’. Prior to accessing the authoring platform participants will be required to accept the Authoring Platform Terms of Usage (Please note: This is a copy of the agreement. The agreement itself will be provided to enrolled students only).

The course is delivered through five modules, each with a series of online presentations and videos, an assignment, a tutor-led webinar, and an online assessment.  The course requires approximately ninety hours of study, and follows a fixed schedule over six months.
