SNOMED International's online courses provide a structured learning program for beginners through to advanced users of SNOMED CT. Online courses currently available include:
SNOMED CT Foundation Course - This course provides an introduction to a broad range of SNOMED CT related topics, including the why, what and how of SNOMED CT.
SNOMED CT Implementation Course - This course provides an in depth understanding of the stages in implementing a SNOMED CT enabled system - from the decision to adopt SNOMED CT, through to design, procurement, development and use.
SNOMED CT Authoring Level 1 Course - This course teaches you the knowledge and skills needed to perform basic SNOMED CT authoring tasks. It also prepares you for the SNOMED CT Authoring Level 1 certification exam.

SNOMED CT for Developers - The goal of this learning pathway is to teach you enough about SNOMED CT in as short as possible a time to enable you to develop software applications that leverage its capabilities.
SNOMED CT for Data Analysts - The goal of this learning pathway is to provide a solid understanding of how SNOMED CT can be used to support your clinical data analytics requirements.
SNOMED International's certification exams allow individuals to be recognized for their capabilities in specific skill areas. The following certification will be available from February 2019:
SNOMED CT Authoring Level 1 Certification - This certification recognizes your competence in performing basic SNOMED CT authoring tasks.
SNOMED International plans to offer the SNOMED CT Authoring Level 2 Certification from 2020.
This learning pathway consists of a collection of E-Learning resources designed for software developers. The goal is to teach you enough about SNOMED CT in as short as possible a time to enable you to develop software applications that leverage its capabilities.
SNOMED CT for Developers has five main learning topics, which cover around twenty hours of presentations. These topics are: Introduction, Essentials, Specifications, Terminology Services, and Record Services. Students may pick and choose the topics and presentations that are most relevant to their software development objectives.
Please note that this pathway will not teach you how to design or develop software. Instead, the focus is on explaining how to apply the features of SNOMED CT within a software application, technical considerations you must be aware of, and resources that are available to assist with your SNOMED CT software development tasks.
