Participants in the SNOMED CT Authoring Level 1 course will have the opportunity to practice their new authoring skills using a training version of SNOMED International's Managed Service authoring platform. This authoring platform has the same functionality as SNOMED International's Managed Service, which has been designed to support a live authoring environment. However, when used in a training environment some of the features provided may negatively impact your work, or the work of other participants. For this reason, participants are required to read and confirm their willingness to abide by the Authoring Platform Terms of Usage prior to being given access to the SNOMED CT authoring platform. The Authoring Platform Terms of Usage (set out below) will be reviewed during the Module A webinar, and students will be given the opportunity to ask questions prior to accepting the agreement.

Please note that where a participant does not abide by the Authoring Platform Terms of Usage, access to the Authoring Platform may be revoked. If this occurs, the participant will be immediately withdrawn from the course.  

TERMS OF USAGE

The Authoring Platform Terms of Usage consist of two main conditions:

  1. Participants agree to use the SNOMED CT content accessed using the SNOMED CT Authoring Platform for only their personal education purposes, and for only the duration of their enrolment in a SNOMED International authoring course or certification exam. Any use of SNOMED CT for any other purpose requires a license. For more information on obtaining a SNOMED CT license please refer to http://www.snomed.org/snomed-ct/get-snomed-ct.
  2. Participants agree to use only the permitted functions within the authoring platform. Use of the restricted functions (as documented below) is strictly prohibited.

  • Review Tasks - Students will not be required to review authoring tasks as part of this course. This function is for course tutors only.
  • My Projects - Students must not access the project screens or use the project level functions in the Authoring Platform. These functions are for course tutors only.
  • All Projects - Students must not access the project screens or use the project level functions in the Authoring Platform. These functions are for course tutors only.

I acknowledge that access is provided on the understanding that these Terms of Usage are complied with and that access may be revoked if I do not abide by these terms. I am aware that revocation of access will result in non-completion of the course.
